The Multimedia Arts Council of the Philippines (MMACP) marked a historic milestone with the successful launch of its first official seminar and training event, "You Don't Need AI to Be a Creative," held on May 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Clock In, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City.

The event brought together a diverse community of multimedia practitioners, educators, students, government representatives, and creative industry professionals for an insightful discussion on the role of Artificial Intelligence in modern creative work.

Leading the session was Poala Cerda of TBWA , who delivered a practical seminar and live demonstration on how AI can be integrated into production, advertising and creative workflows. Participants were introduced to real-world applications of AI tools, particularly Gemini, and learned how these technologies can support ideation, content creation, research, and creative execution.

Key Insights from the Seminar on AI and Creativity
Despite the growing influence of AI across various industries, the seminar emphasized an important perspective: creativity remains fundamentally human. The Multimedia Arts Council (MMACP) also shared its official stance on AI amidst concerns among creatives fearing displacement from their careers. MMACP, along with several studio owners, CEOs, educators, and decision-makers, participated in this vital discussion.
Through these insightful and significant discussions, MMACP aims to steer the conversation away from anxiety and move towards agency among key creative stakeholders regarding the ethical use of AI.
Digital Badges Overview
Another highlight of the event was the awarding of the first-ever MMACP Digital Badges, which symbolize MMACP's dedication to professional development and future training initiatives in multimedia arts.
These new Digital Badges are an in-house development by MMACP. They enable each participant to access a personalized recording of the seminar and provide the opportunity to add this credential to their professional LinkedIn profile.
The Future of Seminars Ahead
The success of "You Don't Need AI to Be Creative" marks the beginning of MMACP's mission to unite and empower the multimedia arts community in the Philippines. This initiative is guided by the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This is just the start. Together, we are dedicated to shaping the future of multimedia arts in the Philippines, with the aspiration of contributing to nation-building through the lens of the digital Filipino creative.
